Green Ideas For Environment

A green environment idea of waste management

Waste management is such a great green environment ideas ever. Garbage is becoming a huge Problem for us as well as for the environment.  For years, we are struggling with this question, what should we do with this huge amount of garbage??? By the estimation of The World Bank, 3 billion people reside surrounded by urban areas, creating more than 1.3 billion metric tons of garbage per year. By 2025, these will possible increase to 4.3 billion urban people producing about 1.42 kg/day of urban solid garbage (2.2 billion tons per year).

In this alarming situation, many ideas have taken already to landfill & conventional waste disposal. Since a long time these idea works. But Because of landfill a huge area are dumped with metric tons of garbage. It was quiet working when the population was about a limit, but day by day with the growing population it becomes a huge headache of word environmentalist. They find another solution like burn the waste in the dump area. In a sense, It worked, the huge garbage turned to ash but it harms the environment so desperately. People around world still facing this garbage problem.

Besides this global problem, Some green environment-friendly methods also come forward. For example, A great green idea has created and applied by Mr. C Srinivasan from Vellore, India. He developed an enormous idea to solve garbage problem by using an eco-friendly method. Mr. C Srinivasan says “don’t waste your garbage; it can be turned into money by recycling”. Do you think this is crazy??? Or actually does it works???

The answer is “yes obviously”. Srinivasan himself has done this in Vellore. He turns the garbage into black gold.

According his project he used some animals like cows, earthworms, chickens, ducks & frogs as the worker to recycle the garbage. All the animals work a tremendous job there without complaining & without salary. There are two shifts of working, but there is no problem in change shifting. Sounds funny, right?

First at the morning, he collects the huge vegetable wastage from the nearest vegetable market. On an average after every 4 hours of a day the vegetable wastage comes in his project by his own vehicle. He says, “If the Vegetable wastage can be taken before they waste, it can be called resources”.   Here he uses the first worker the cow (usually he choose the older cows those can’t give birth and in a sense they are useless). The vegetable wastage is then given to the cows to eat (35 kg per cow). The cow’s responsibility is only eating the vegetables, digest them in next 8 hours and give dung like a retired worker. We all know the cow dung is a massive source of biogas. So they collect the cow dung and store them in a bio gas plant to produce biogas. 99% of the dung are come out from the biogas plant as a liquid. They store the liquid dung in a chamber & appoint their second worker the earthworms to eat the liquid. all night the earthworms eat the liquid dung and turned them into fertilizer. This fertilizer is called the black gold, the most valuable fertilizer on earth and its 100% eco-friendly. So here the vegetable wastage turned into black gold in just less than 72 hours. I’m afraid this is the fastest process of getting eco-friendly fertilizer. No other machine can do this in this duration.

Then comes the third worker, the chickens. There grows a huge number of worms from the solid wastage dung comes from the biogas plant. Worms are the favorite food of hen. So the maggots or worms are given to the hens to eat. Hens eat the worms like a feast and give eggs in the morning. Mr. C Srinivasan says “there is no machine can produce eggs from maggots, only chicken does”. And by eating the maggots the chickens averagely give more eggs than regular time.

The last worker is the ducks. Fish is the favorite food of duck. So Mr. C Srinivasan collects the fish wastage from the fish market which is usually a problematic issue for a municipality. He give the fishes to the duck, they eat them and as the chickens they als0 give eggs in the next morning. The ducks also give more eggs than regular.
Mr. C Srinivasan says, “If my project can work in Vellore then why not in whole India, as well as in all countries of the world”. He established a huge plan of waste management. It is 100% eco-friendly innovative idea of green environment. It can be start in every city in the world.

Mr. C Srinivasan is a self-motivated ecologist from Vellore. A venerable AID Saathi, Following successful demonstrations all across Vellore, Mr. Srinivasan’s Zero Waste Management (ZWM) model has been broadly commended as the ‘National Model’. It has been penetrated by a number of universities and environmentalists crosswise the country. He is at present on the run to spot a village in every state based on his Zero      Waste Management model is to be applied.
